You know what really surprised me about Anda no Mori? I walked in expecting just another business hotel in Tennoji, but this place actually has some personality. The lobby feels more like a boutique hotel than what you’d typically find in this part of Osaka – there’s this warm, modern design with natural wood elements that somehow doesn’t feel forced or corporate.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to avoid the touristy chaos of Namba or Dotonbori but still be connected to everything. You’re literally a three-minute walk from Tennoji Station, which means the airport express is right there, plus you’ve got the JR loop line and multiple subway connections. But here’s the thing most people don’t realize – you’re also walking distance to Shinsekai, which I mean, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea with all the pachinko parlors and older establishments, but the kushikatsu scene there is incredible, especially at night. The hotel sits on this quieter side street off the main drag, so you don’t get the constant noise from Tennoji Park or the station crowds.

The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 4-star place, nothing revolutionary but definitely well-thought-out. The beds are actually comfortable (not always a given in Japanese hotels), and the bathrooms have proper separation between the toilet and shower area – small detail, but it matters when you’re staying more than a night or two. What I really appreciated was the attention to soundproofing; even though you’re in the middle of a busy district, the rooms stay surprisingly quiet. The staff speaks decent English, which helps, and check-in was smooth even when I arrived during what seemed like a busy conference season.

I’ll be honest, the breakfast isn’t going to blow your mind, but it’s solid – mix of Western and Japanese options, and the coffee is better than most hotel coffee I’ve had in Japan. The real selling point for me was just how easy everything felt. Need to get to Osaka Castle? Fifteen minutes on the loop line. Want to hit up Kuromon Market? Quick subway ride. Even getting to Universal Studios is pretty straightforward from here. Plus, if you’re into temples and gardens, Shitennoji Temple is basically around the corner – one of those spots that’s significant but not overrun with tour groups. The neighborhood has this authentic, lived-in feel that you don’t get in the more polished tourist areas, with local izakayas and family-run shops mixed in with the modern developments. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying in actual Osaka, not just visiting it.

  Great location next to train station that connects to all major tourist attractions and airport, helpful and friendly staff,good food options for breakfast (and we also loved afternoon tea!)

  The amenities are great! We enjoyed every second! The afternoon tea and night time food was very delicious! The buckwheat pillows were so comfortable that make me wanna bring some home! Very family friendly place! Highly recommended!

  Interesting conception for a hotel if you have kids because it has a lot of going on for kids and their parents. Close to metro station Tenaji (the red line and the other with the good exits – 16 and 17 only!! The first time, we got out following exit 4 or something, and it was not easy at all to find the hotel.

  This hotel gives a great guest experience. It is a clean, comfortable hotel with great thought put into providing everything you need.
  We liked the complimentary drinks and snacks and the Karaoke rooms. Rooms weren't large but space was used thoughtfully, even charging cables for phones provided.

  The extra amenities provided by the hotel was amazing. You also had free beer, coffee, wine that you could enjoy in the lobby area. For families there are in-house playgrounds. You can also play darts and pool.
