Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw 青羽-星川 (Aoba-Hoshikawa), I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place tucked away in Konohana-ku. But you know what? Sometimes the best finds are the ones that don’t try too hard to impress you upfront. This little gem sits quietly on a residential street in Nishikujo, and I mean quietly – once you step inside, the usual Osaka hustle just melts away.

The location is actually pretty clever if you know the area. You’re basically a stone’s throw from Nishikujo Station, which honestly makes getting around way easier than staying in the tourist-heavy spots. Universal Studios is right there (I could literally see the roller coaster from my window), but here’s the thing – you’re not paying those inflated theme park hotel prices. The neighborhood has this authentic feel to it, with actual locals going about their day instead of just tourists with selfie sticks. There’s a decent konbini about two minutes away, and I found this amazing little ramen joint that the front desk guy recommended – the kind of place that doesn’t have an English menu but somehow that makes the tonkotsu taste even better.

What really got me was the attention to detail. I mean, sure, it’s not luxury, but everything just… works. The rooms are compact but thoughtfully laid out (very Japanese efficiency), and honestly, the bed was more comfortable than some 4-star places I’ve stayed at in Tokyo. The staff genuinely seemed to care – not in that rehearsed hotel way, but like they actually wanted you to have a good time. My check-in was smooth even though my Japanese is pretty terrible, and when I mentioned I was heading to Dotonbori later, the woman at the front desk drew me a little map showing which train cars to get on for easier transfers. That’s the kind of local knowledge you just can’t get from a chain hotel. The building itself has this quiet, almost zen-like quality – I think it’s something about the way the light comes through the lobby in the morning. You’ll sleep well here, trust me. Even with Universal Studios nearby, it never felt touristy or chaotic. Just a solid, comfortable place to rest up between exploring Osaka’s incredible food scene and getting your adrenaline fix next door.

  立地が良く、フラットタイプな玄関なのでキャリーケースを階段で上階に運ぶ苦労も減らせました
  キッチン周りの基礎的な道具が揃っているのも有難かったです
  洗剤、しっかり髪を乾かせるドライヤーなども揃っていたことも嬉しいポイントでした
  
  ジェット機能付き浴槽はメンバーに嬉しいサプライズだったようです。シャワールームが別途にあったのも良かったです
  
  What could be improved: ハンガー、浴槽蓋、欲を言えば計量カップも欲しいね、というコメントが出ていました
  逆に言えば、自分たちで用意出来る範囲でのことくらいしかありませんでした

  とにかくロケーションが最高です。
  ユニバ、梅田、なんば、関空どこへ行くにも乗り換え不要。
  駅周辺には飲食店はたくさんあるし、テイクアウトできる店舗もいくつかあるので、食事には困りません。
  徒歩30秒の銭湯も最高でした。
  
  What could be improved: リフォームされているとはいえ、やっぱり昭和の建物です。
  いくつかのフライパン、小皿はありましたが、ピーラー等の調理器具や料理を盛る大皿も見当たらなかったので、料理を楽しむのは難しそう。お酒を飲む用の大きめなグラスも欲しいところです。

  アクセスが最高。大阪駅から二駅で、旅の目的であるUSJや大阪城へのアクセスが抜群でした。駅からも近く、スーパーも歩いて行けたので良かった。寝室も多く、ゆったり眠れた。
  
  What could be improved: キーケースの暗証番号が送られて来ず、電話で問い合わせたら外国人が出てカタコトでメールで送ったと言われたがメールもアプリのメッセージでも来ていなかった。
  Wi-Fiのパスワードもどこ探しても無く、メール問い合わせしたが、既に宿泊中なのに予約日が近づいていますのメールが何度も来た。間違えているのかな？
  お皿はあるがコップがグラスしか無く、コーヒーやスープのカップみたいなものが無い。フォークもない。洗濯干せる場所も屋上しか無い。屋内でも干せると良かった。柔軟剤もない。
  
  すごく不便！ではないけど、微妙に不便な事が数々あった。
  安いしアクセスが良いので上記が分かった上で泊まるなら問題ない。

  位置非常好，雖然離車站不遠，但非常安靜！房間乾淨、整潔，其中一間浴室有浴缸，每天晚上回去可以泡澡休息一下~
  
  附近也有許多餐廳，還有超市與便利店，不用擔心沒食物！

  ベッドルームが多く、バスルームも2つあって3世帯で泊まりましたが、設備では困らなかった。
