Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to 谷町君ホテル on that narrow street in Ebisucho, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the unassuming spots end up surprising you, and this little hotel totally did that.
The thing about this area is that it’s properly local Osaka – not the touristy Dotonbori madness everyone talks about, but actually where people live and work. You’re literally a few minutes’ walk from Nippombashi Station, which honestly makes getting around way easier than staying in some of the flashier districts. I mean, the hotel sits right there on a quiet residential street, so you’re not dealing with drunk salarymen stumbling around at 2 AM (trust me, that matters). What really got me was how the staff seemed genuinely surprised when I complimented the place – like they’re not used to people appreciating what they’ve got going on. The rooms are clean and compact in that efficient Japanese way, and the air conditioning actually works properly, which… well, if you’ve stayed in budget places during Osaka summers, you know that’s not always a given.
Here’s what I really appreciated though – the neighborhood vibe is incredible. There’s this tiny ramen shop about two blocks away that doesn’t even have a sign in English, just local office workers lining up every lunch hour. And honestly, being in Ebisucho means you’re close to the electronics district without being right in the thick of the chaos. I could walk to Kuromon Market in the morning for fresh sushi breakfast, then hop on the subway to anywhere in the city. The hotel itself doesn’t try to be fancy – no marble lobby or whatever – but everything works. Hot water’s consistent, the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and the front desk folks spoke enough English to help with restaurant recommendations (though they seemed way more excited when I attempted my terrible Japanese). One small thing that bugged me was the elevator – it’s one of those tiny ones that fits maybe three people max, so if you’re traveling with big luggage, you might be making a couple trips. But honestly, for an 8.8 rating, I get it. The value here is real. You’re paying for a clean, comfortable base in a genuinely interesting part of Osaka, not some Instagram-worthy lobby that adds ¥5000 to your nightly rate. If you want to actually experience the city instead of just taking photos of your hotel room, this is your spot.

It is new and clean. I really love the location because it is quiet and near the train station. I love that it has the view of Tsutenkaku tower, balcony and near also to Shin-imamiya station where we can ride one tray to airport.
What could be improved: nothing. I would definitely recommend and book it againArmando from Philippines – 25 April 2025 (9/10)
Very-well thought of even without host assistance for the whole stay. All our needs were met. The place is very near a train station which is accessible and near to Namba station. Our group really liked the bath tub as usual and the complete set of kitchenette.
What could be improved: There was a washing machine which served its purpose but it would be better to have a very good dryer. Nonetheless, all was good.Marcelo from Philippines – 14 April 2025 (9/10)
The location is safe and very accessible to train station. The host replies all the time if I have inquiries.
What could be improved: None at all.Daphne from Singapore – 20 March 2025 (9/10)
Amazing location, very clean. I loved the dryer, it really helped with the thick clothes during winter!

This is honestly the best accommodation I've had the pleasure of staying in Osaka. You are particularly staying in a fully furnished modern Japanese apartment in a safe neighbourhood for such an affordable cost that is almost borderline criminal. The apartment comes with a wonderful AC, fire safety system, television, free wi-fi, a washing machine, furbished kitchen (with cutteries, plates, stove and refrigerator), a bathroom and toilet in separate rooms. What more can you ask for? If you happened to be lucky and found this accommodation on a Google search. Do yourself a favour and book this place. Trust the reviews about this place being amazing. Also for the sake of solo travellers in the future. Please make sure you be respectful towards your Japanese neighbours and diligent in following the house rules asked from you. It's a private accomodation and locals do live there in the building. Do it for the rest of us and make sure this accommodation is trusted to be rented to other foreigners in the near future. You won't regret booking this place. This is legit.
What could be improved: Practically none unless you prefer a human interaction when you check-in since there's no receptionist. But even then, the company will send you a very detailed guide on how to get the property from the Kansai airport. As well as steps to retrieve your keys via PowerPoint the night before. No downsides whatsoever and it's highly unlikely you will be confused by the guide.Natassya from Indonesia – 1 October 2024 (9/10)
The location very close to the station, near to several minimarket, very clean. Love every aspect of this unit. Worth the money.. very recommended. So generous to amenities, they provide everything.
