So I stumbled across 荣-和inn403 while hunting for something different in Osaka’s Nippombashi area, and honestly? It’s one of those places that surprises you in the best way. You know how some hotels feel like they’re trying too hard to be something they’re not? This isn’t that. It’s a solid 3-star spot that actually feels more polished than its rating suggests – I mean, an 8.5 guest rating doesn’t lie.

The location is what really got me excited though. You’re right in Nippombashi East, which most tourists completely miss, but locals know it’s where the real action happens. We’re talking a 5-minute walk to Kuromon Ichiba Market (and trust me, you’ll want those fresh tuna sashimi breakfasts), plus you can literally stumble to Dotonbori when you’re ready for the chaos without dealing with hotel prices in the thick of it all. The street itself – Higashi 3-chome – is surprisingly quiet for being so central, though you’ll hear the occasional delivery truck around 6 AM. Nothing too crazy.

What I actually loved about staying here was the attention to detail that felt… well, genuinely Japanese rather than tourist-Japanese, if that makes sense. The front desk staff switched between Japanese and English effortlessly, and when I mentioned I was hoping to find good takoyaki nearby, they didn’t just point me toward the obvious spots but actually drew me a little map to this hole-in-the-wall place two blocks over that ended up being incredible. The rooms themselves are clean and functional – not Instagram-worthy, but honestly refreshing after staying at places that prioritize looks over comfort. Good water pressure in the shower (always a gamble in older buildings), and the AC actually works without sounding like a jet engine.

The check-in process was smooth, though I’d recommend arriving after 3 PM because they seem to use that time for thorough room prep. There’s no fancy lobby or anything, but there’s something nice about a place that knows what it is. You’re not paying for marble floors and chandeliers – you’re paying for a clean bed, reliable wifi, and a location that puts you in the middle of everything without the tourist markup. Plus, if you’re into electronics or vintage gaming (hello, Denden Town is right there), you couldn’t ask for a better base. I ended up extending my stay an extra night just because the whole area felt so liveable, and honestly, at these prices in this neighborhood, why wouldn’t you?

  A spacious property that was well decorred and equipped.
  
  The property allowed for early luggage storage and we were let in by the cleaning lady, who had a bubbly personality. She let us do a quick tour of the property and let us know about the fun places to visit in Osaka.
  
  As the property had two floors, the first was designed in traditional Japanese tatami style, while the second floor was designed in Western style.
  
  While there are no staff physically at the property, the staff on Booking's chat was responsive to questions such as where to get the gas cannister for the grill. The kitchen was also well equipped with bowls and cutlery. My family enjoyed being able to grill wagyu and seafood bought from the supermarket at Kuromon.
  
  The staff also allowed us to store luggage at the property after check out. We were able to check out a final place and collect our luggage, before the check in by the next guests.
  
  The only downside is that as the property is low rise, it is not equipped with an elevator.
  
  Overall, the property was a great stay, managed by responsive and accomodating staff.

  The location of the apartment was perfect, however there isn’t any elevator to the top floor and you will need to use stairs. The apartment had a good amount of space and dual showers, this was also a self a service apartment so there are no staff

  Excellently set up! Beautifully set out. Very spacious and convenient.
  
  What could be improved: While there isn’t much that can be done about heaving luggage up to the 4th floor through a narrow staircase, it’s still not a great feature. 2 showers are great, no baths- less so.

  There was plenty of space, and everything was very clean.
  
  What could be improved: It's on the 4th floor without elevator so it is rough walking up with all the luggage specially in hot summer days.

  The house is beautiful and clean. The owner is very kind and helpful. It’s on 4th floor and there are steep stairs inside. So for those who travel with elders, need to consider this. It even has a big terrace on the 2nd floor. Very convenient to dry our clothes. 2 shower rooms and 2 toilets. Good for family stay.

  에비스초역에서 가까워서 접근성이 매우좋고
  설명이매우잘되어있어서 숙소 찾기도 나쁘지않았습니다.
  화장실과 샤워실이 2개씩있어서 이용이 편리했고 또 넒어서 좋았습니다.
  주변을 돌아다니느라 이용하지못했지만 테라스도 좋아보였습니다.
  특히나 관리가 잘되었다는 느낌을 받은부분은 도쿄에서 묵었던 다른 숙소와 달리 물때가 전혀없었다는점에서 세심하게 관리를 하는 구나 생각이 들었습니다.
  옷걸이와 건조대도 충분했고 침대도 마찬가지였습니다. 5명이었는데 확실히 괜찮네요 아마 다음번에도 오사카 갈일있으면 여기 묵을것같네요
  
  What could be improved: 엘리베이터가 없는점이 좀 아쉽습니다. 이건 건물문제라 개선할수있는 부분이아니지만 15~20Kg정도되는 캐리어를 들고 4층까지 놀라가기엔 힘들긴합니다 ㅎㅎ
