So I ended up at の (Fukuyoshi no Kujo) sort of by accident – was looking for something affordable in Osaka that wasn’t a total tourist trap, you know? This place sits right in the Kujo area of Nishi-ku, and honestly, I’m glad I stumbled into this neighborhood. It’s got that lived-in Osaka vibe where you’ll hear obaa-sans chatting on their way to the local konbini and smell real home cooking drifting from apartment windows.

The hotel itself is pretty straightforward – three stars, which feels about right. Nothing fancy, but everything works and the staff actually seem to care about the place. What really got me was the location, though. You’re literally a few minutes’ walk from Kujo Station on the Chuo Line, which means you can get to Namba in like ten minutes without dealing with the chaos of staying right in the thick of things. There’s this great little shopping street nearby where locals do their grocery shopping – I mean, I saw maybe two other tourists the whole time I was wandering around there. The breakfast spot next door (some tiny place with no English sign) serves the kind of katsu sando that makes you understand why people obsess over Japanese convenience store food, except this is the real deal.

Here’s the thing about staying in Kujo – it feels like you’re actually in a neighborhood instead of a hotel district. The morning sounds are different, more authentic somehow. You’ll hear the recycling truck making its rounds, kids heading to school, the rhythmic clacking of bicycles on the narrow streets. My room was clean and quiet (faced away from the main road, which was clutch), and while the bathroom was typically compact, the water pressure was solid and everything felt well-maintained. The 7.7 rating makes sense – it’s not going to blow your mind, but there’s something refreshing about a place that just does the basics really well without trying to be something it’s not. Plus, you’re close enough to hop over to Sumiyoshi Taisha if you want some shrine time, or catch a train to Universal Studios without the premium you’d pay for staying closer to the action. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re getting a peek into regular Osaka life, which honestly beats another sterile hotel room in a tourist zone.

  It was really spacious, a quiet neighbourhood and great value.

  Location was ok, Kujo metro station is fairly close, so is 7 eleven. There are vending machines and restaurants and bars close by
  
  Private parking was awesome, but the parking space is really small. Its inside the house and we had a small 4 door car that barely fit in completely.

  The house is on 4 levels and the stairs are pretty steep so keep that in mind
  
  What could be improved: It was a bit cold inside, outdoor tempature was +4 to +10

  Bylo skvělé mít celý domeček pro sebe. Mohli jsme si vařit, měli jsme dostatek soukromí. Pro 4 dospělé byly 2 záchody skvělé. Ubytování bylo ve velmi klidné části města, blízko metra i vlaku.

  Le rapport qualité prix était sûrement le meilleur que vous pouvez trouver à Osaka pour 6 personnes.
  L’emplacement est proche du centre mais dans un quartier assez résidentiel.
  La place de parking est exiguë mais reste abordable.
  
  Le seul point négatif est sûrement le côté vieillot du logement en général. Cela n’affecte en rien le séjour.

  È una villa a se, per noi che eravamo in 6 è stato abbastanza comodo. Punti in più per il bagno con doccia separato dagli altri 2 piccoli bagni con water. In casa c’è tutto tra lavatrice, attrezzi per cucinare, microonde, phon, ecc.
  
  What could be improved: L’unica pecca è che la stazione più vicina distava a 10min molto pesanti farli dopo una giornata di 30000 passi. Altra pecca è che ha 4 molti gradini e portare le valigie su è tosta, consigliamo di lasciarle al piano terra.

  What could be improved: Adresse communiquée n'est pas reconnue par google en version traduite, et aboutit à 300m du logement. Version japonaise à copier/coller absolument, à défaut de pouvoir l écrire avec un clavier latin.
  Logement sur 4 niveaux, pas très pratique.
  Stations de métros à 13mn à pied au plus proche.
  Communication perfectible avec l'hôte (ne reçoit pas les mails via la messagerie booking et ne parle pas anglais)
  Peu d'ustensiles de cuisine.
