Hotel Description
Honestly, when I first saw the name of this place – 無料駐車場有り 新大阪駅まで1駅1分 Guest House 橘 東三国 – I thought someone just threw every selling point into the title and called it a day. But you know what? They’re not wrong about any of it. This whole guesthouse takeover in Higashimikuni is actually pretty brilliant if you’re traveling with a group or need that sweet spot between Osaka proper and easy Shinkansen access.
The location really is the star here – I mean, you’re literally one minute from Shin-Osaka on the Midosuji line from Higashimikuni station, and that five-minute walk from the guesthouse is through this quiet residential area that feels worlds away from the tourist chaos. The neighborhood has that authentic Osaka vibe where salarymen grab convenience store coffee at 7am and you’ll hear the soft chatter from local izakayas in the evening. The two-story setup works well for bigger groups (they fit up to 14 people, which is wild), and having your own parking spot is honestly a game-changer in this city – most places charge you 2000+ yen per day just to park.
What struck me most was how they’ve managed to create this homey atmosphere without feeling cramped, even when the place is full. The owners clearly put thought into the little things – proper hooks for wet umbrellas (crucial during tsuyu season), enough fridge space that your group won’t be playing food Tetris, and surprisingly good water pressure upstairs. I’ve stayed in plenty of Osaka accommodations where the shower feels like a gentle mist, so this was refreshing. The fact that it’s a full takeover means you’re not tiptoeing around other guests or dealing with paper-thin walls – you can actually have conversations without whispering. Sure, the decor isn’t going to win any design awards, and the stairs creak a bit (it’s an older building), but there’s something really comfortable about the whole setup. Plus, that perfect 10 rating isn’t just inflated scores – guests genuinely seem to get what this place is about. It’s not trying to be a luxury hotel; it’s trying to be a really good home base for exploring Kansai, and it absolutely nails that brief.

On the first floor there's a spacious living room with fully equipped kitchen and big TV with internet. Everything has this interesting bar like vibe. On the other hand on the second floor there's a traditional tea room where you can relax. It was really nice. Two toilets and washing machine.
The location is also pretty good. Just a short walk away you can find quiet a few restaurants and convenience stores. Just as close you have a metro and a little further there's a main train Shin-Osaka station. We stayed there as a group of 8 for a week, and thanks to the convenient location, we were able to explore Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, and the surrounding area.
In the evenings, we could enjoy a mini karaoke session and relax as if we had our own private bar.
Even though we didn't meet any staff We did get a folder with tips on how to use everything in the house and even got some recommendations for local attractions and restaurants.
What could be improved: It Was one of the best places I stayed in this price range and the only minor issue I had was that there's only one bathtub with shower but If you plan it right it's not really a problem.Tommi from Finland – 21 March 2025 (10/10)
