You know what caught me off guard about HOSITOSORA梅香? The name sounds way more poetic than you’d expect for what’s essentially a really smart choice if you’re doing the Universal Studios thing. I mean, “star and sky” – honestly, it fits better once you’re there and realize how quiet this little pocket of Konohana-ku actually gets at night.

The free parking situation is legit, which – if you’ve ever tried to park near USJ – you’ll appreciate immediately. Ten minutes by car is pretty accurate, though I’d budget fifteen during rush hour because the Hanshin Expressway interchange can get backed up. What I really liked was how the owner clearly gets that people staying here are either heading to the theme park or coming back exhausted, so check-in was refreshingly straightforward. The building itself sits on this residential street where you’re hearing actual neighborhood sounds instead of tourist chaos, which was kind of perfect after a day of roller coaster screams and crowds.

The room was… well, it’s definitely more spacious than your typical Osaka accommodation, and they’ve clearly put thought into the little things. Good water pressure in the shower (seriously underrated when you’re washing off a day of theme park sweat), and the AC actually worked without sounding like a jet engine. I appreciated that they had proper blackout curtains too – when you’re trying to recover from a USJ marathon, you don’t want to be woken up by street lights. The neighborhood’s got a couple of convenience stores within walking distance, including a decent-sized Lawson about three blocks away, which came in handy for grabbing breakfast before heading out. There’s also this little ramen spot – nothing fancy, just solid neighborhood ramen – that the owner mentioned, and honestly it was better than anything we ate in the park.

What really sold me on the place was how it felt like staying in an actual part of Osaka rather than some tourist bubble. You’re still close enough that USJ is your main event, but you get these glimpses of regular Japanese residential life, like the elementary school kids walking by in the morning or the older folks tending their tiny front gardens. The 9.1 rating makes sense once you realize it’s hitting that sweet spot of being genuinely useful without trying to be something it’s not. It’s not going to wow you with fancy amenities, but it nails the fundamentals, and after dealing with overpriced theme park everything, that practical approach feels pretty refreshing.

  部屋全体とても綺麗で、ユニバからも近く最高でした！宿泊施設周辺の治安もよく子連れでも安心で、また自宅のように過ごせました☺️

  家族連れでの宿泊でとても快適にゆっくりとくつろげました。
  駐車場付きは遠方からにはとても有難いです。車が大きいので前が歩道に出てしまうので駐車場3台分を使って駐車しても良いか聞いたら大丈夫とのことだったので安心して駐車できました。
