Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be straight with you – when I first saw the name “東瀛 Stays502富士 お洒落な和室部屋,” I honestly thought I was in for one of those tourist trap places that tries way too hard. But this little spot in Nippombashi actually surprised me. It’s tucked into this narrow building that you’d walk right past if you weren’t looking for it, which is pretty typical for this part of Naniwa ward. The whole area feels like old Osaka mixed with electronics shops and random vending machines – you know, the real Japan tourists always say they want to find.
The tatami room itself is… well, it’s small, but they’ve done something clever with the space. The futon setup is genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about this stuff after sleeping on too many rock-hard Japanese beds), and honestly the view isn’t much to write home about, but there’s something peaceful about the morning light filtering through those shoji screens. What really got me was how quiet it stays despite being so close to Dotonbori – I mean, you’re maybe a 15-minute walk from all that chaos, but somehow the street noise just doesn’t carry. The walls are surprisingly thick for what looks like a converted apartment building. Check-in was smooth enough, though the lobby is basically just a counter in what feels like someone’s living room – don’t expect a grand entrance or anything.
Here’s the thing though – the location is actually perfect if you want to feel like you’re staying somewhere locals might actually live. There’s a Family Mart literally across the street (lifesaver for late-night snacks), and this little ramen shop about three doors down that doesn’t have an English menu but serves the best tonkotsu I had in Osaka. The Nippombashi electronics district is right there if you’re into that scene, and Kuromon Market is close enough that you can grab fresh sushi for breakfast without dealing with the Tsukiji crowds. Getting to the main tourist spots is easy – Nippombashi station is maybe a five-minute walk, and from there you’re connected to everything. I actually preferred staying here over the bigger hotels near Osaka Castle because it felt more authentic, you know? The 8.3 rating makes sense – it’s not luxury, but it’s clean, the staff actually seems to care, and for the price point, you’re getting something genuinely Japanese without the theme park vibe. Just don’t expect room service or a concierge – this is more like crashing at your cool friend’s traditional apartment in the heart of the city.

Spacious room a kitchen and dinning table. Ideal for 3 friends who are making a few days or more stop over.
Keep in mind its japanese style beds ( a thin matress if that). I enjoyed it.Yuni from Australia – 16 July 2023 (8/10)
Good location, quiet, clean.
What could be improved: Washing machine/dryer on first floorPhilippe from Ireland – 2 May 2025 (8/10)
Location is perfect, close to the market, a nice coffee shop and downtown.
What could be improved: The motorway next but at night there is very few traffic therefore not very loudHong from Australia – 9 October 2024 (9/10)
nice owner, comfy beds. close to the local shops.
What could be improved: a little bit far from the transport stations.Daryl from Malaysia – 18 April 2024 (9/10)
The property check in was smooth as we only need the passcode for the unit without going through any staff in the property. The place is spacious for 5 pax and very reasonable priced. The attendant for the unit through the Booking app is reliable too. There’s even two laundry shops nearby if you do not want to use the washing machine they’ve provided.
What could be improved: More of the location than the property it self. Seems a bit of a long distance from the Namba Station, but otherwise it is a lovely place for vacation.Peng from Australia – 25 April 2023 (8/10)
Has 3 rooms, location very good!
What could be improved: No drinking cups.Aaron from Singapore – 30 March 2025 (7/10)
I'm not used to sleeping on the floor with the tatami. Pillows is not supportive. The rest of it was decent.
Hikari from Australia – 7 October 2024 (7/10)
Spacious room. Air conditioner was very effective.
What could be improved: Wifi was so weak and dropped often.Young from Spain – 22 April 2025 (9/10)
Its so hard to find a place in Japan especially you are a family of 5. But this place was perfect for us.
What could be improved: Nth muchZhenyu from Australia – 24 December 2023 (6/10)
the rooms are spacious (compared to other Japanese apartments) and almost all facilities are available.
What could be improved: location isn't ideal. it is far from the Nabam station and basically nothing nearby. I should have picked somewhere closer to Dotonbori instead.
