Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw the name “旅タイム 玉出東” I wasn’t sure what to expect, but this little gem near Kishiri-Tamade Station really surprised me. It’s tucked away on a quiet residential street in Tamade-Higashi, and you know what? That’s actually perfect because you get the authentic Osaka neighborhood vibe without all the tourist chaos.

The thing about this place is it feels like someone who actually travels designed it. The rooms aren’t huge – I mean, this is Japan, so you’re not expecting a palace – but everything’s thought out really well. The beds are surprisingly comfortable (and I’m picky about that), and there’s this nice attention to detail that you don’t always get at chain hotels. The bathroom setup is smart too, with one of those Japanese-style wet rooms that somehow feels more spacious than it looks. What really got me was how quiet it is at night – you’d think being near the station would mean noise, but honestly, I slept better here than at some places in the countryside.

The location is actually brilliant if you want to experience real Osaka. Tamade isn’t exactly a tourist hotspot, which means you’re walking past actual neighbors hanging laundry and grabbing groceries, not souvenir shops. The station’s literally a few minutes away, so getting into central Osaka is no problem at all – you can be in Namba in about 15 minutes. But here’s the thing locals know: there’s this fantastic little ramen shop just around the corner that doesn’t even have an English menu, and the convenience store nearby stocks all the good stuff you actually need when you’re traveling. The staff at the hotel were genuinely helpful too, not just going through the motions – they gave me actual directions to places instead of just pointing at a map.

I stayed here during what turned out to be a pretty busy week in Osaka, and while the touristy areas were packed, coming back to this neighborhood felt like stepping into a completely different city. You’ll hear the occasional train, but it’s more of a gentle rumble than anything disruptive. The check-in process was smooth, and they seem to really understand what international travelers need without making a big deal about it. The whole place has this clean, minimalist feel that’s relaxing after spending days navigating crowded streets and temples. For the price point, it’s honestly excellent value – you’re getting a solid 4-star experience without paying for a bunch of amenities you probably won’t use anyway. If you want to stay somewhere that feels authentically Japanese but still comfortable and well-located, this is definitely worth considering.

  Location was great, very modern & new, air cons in every room so could handle the hot summers weather. Good facilities and linen, extra provided when requested. We added extra people last minute as additional family members decided to travel with us & was not charged extra which we really appreciated!
  
  What could be improved: Listing advised sofabed which is misleading as one was not provided just a small leather couch. Check out says between 8am-11am but cleaners arrived at 10:15am and we were still packing to leave which made it stressful.

  The house was great. The facilities within were excellent. Supermarkets and Convenience stores were within a few minutes walk. Communication with the owner was excellent.
  
  What could be improved: The train station next door was noisy but it's obviously a short walk. Towels were very small for westerners and the property would be better with some small supplies of dishwasher detergent and tea/dish towels…but these are minor issues really. The information provided for the property should really include that the parking space is very small. Our old and borrowed Honda CRV only just fit the space. The owner did tell us that the space was for a compact car but this was not until after we had confirmed and paid for the booking. Overall though we had a great stay.
