I mean, finding a whole villa to yourself in Osaka is pretty rare, especially one that doesn’t feel cramped or squeezed between other buildings like most places in the city. The Nishinari ward gets a bad rap sometimes, but this particular stretch of Kishisato 3-chome is actually quite peaceful – you’re close enough to hear the occasional train from the Nankai line, but it’s more of a gentle rumble than anything disruptive.

What really makes this spot work is the space, honestly. Four floors and 130 square meters means you can actually spread out, which is almost unheard of if you’ve stayed in typical Osaka accommodations before. The lower floors have this lived-in feeling that somehow manages to be homey without being cluttered, and I found myself gravitating toward the upper levels in the evenings – there’s something about being able to look out over the neighborhood rooftops that makes you feel like you’re getting a real slice of local life. The area around here is pretty authentic too; you’ve got small family-run shops along the streets, and the kind of neighborhood ramen joints where locals actually eat (not the touristy ones). Tamaده Station is walkable, though I’d be lying if I said it’s the most glamorous part of town – but that’s sort of the point, right? You’re experiencing actual Osaka residential life, not some sanitized version of it.

The practical stuff works well enough – parking isn’t impossible to find on the street, and the check-in process was surprisingly smooth for what’s essentially someone’s converted house. I will say the stairs get a workout since it’s four floors, so maybe not ideal if you’re hauling massive suitcases or have mobility concerns. But the trade-off is worth it; having multiple levels means everyone in your group can find their own space, and the top floor feels almost like a private retreat. The 8.3 rating makes sense to me – it’s not going to wow you with luxury amenities or concierge service, but it delivers on the promise of space and authenticity. Plus, you’re actually well-positioned for getting around; the Nankai line connects you to some interesting areas, and you can reach central Osaka without too much hassle. It’s one of those places that grows on you – initially you might wonder about the neighborhood, but by the end of your stay you’ll probably find yourself appreciating the quieter pace and the fact that you’re staying somewhere most tourists never see.

  The house is incredibly cosy, equipped with everything you need for your stay in Japan. This house is located very closely to two metro stations, making it a great place to get from the Kansai airport and to explore Osaka. The host is so kind and friendly who always quickly responds to messages.

  What could be improved: We didn’t liked the property and its facilities at all.
  There were not even some basic things like a proper cutlery like a house should have. They were not responding as we asked them on the messages and even on calls.
  Toilet paper, which is the most basic thing was also not available properly.
  They had a TV but there was no remote.
  No proper towels.
  No proper utensils.
  No proper dining required items.
  The gas was also not working properly.
  There were so many things that were not even available and most of the things were in shortage.
  The parking was also stuffed with so much garbage.
  We were not able to park our car in that, even in a house with a parking, we had to use a paid parking.
  We called and messaged them so many times for so many things, they just came once with battery for gas and that too was not the right fit for the gas that was in the house.
  The house was not even properly cleaned, it smelled so bad when we entered the house.
  We immediately had to use the room freshener in the whole house.

  Nous sommes une famille de 4 personnes et nous avons trouvé la maison agréable et grande. Plusieurs grandes chambres. Petit parking privé. Endroit très calme.
  Plusieurs restaurants et supérette à proximité du logement, qui est très pratique.
  L'hôte est agréable et disponible en cas de besoin.
