So here’s the thing about this place – when I first saw the name “天下茶屋日式传统一户建Hong Hotel2” I honestly had no idea what to expect, but it turned out to be one of those hidden gems that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled onto something special. It’s tucked away on Shiosaki street in what used to be a pretty residential part of Nishinari ward, and I mean, you’re not exactly in the tourist bubble here. The whole area has this authentic, lived-in feel that most visitors never see – you know, corner vending machines with drinks you’ve never heard of, tiny family-run shops, and the kind of narrow streets where you hear conversations drifting from apartment windows.

The hotel itself is actually a converted traditional house (that’s what the “一户建” part means), and they’ve done this really thoughtful job of keeping the original character while making it work as a proper accommodation. Walking in, there’s this immediate sense of stepping into someone’s well-loved home rather than a sterile hotel lobby. The tatami floors have that particular scent – sort of earthy and clean at the same time – and honestly, it just feels right. What surprised me was how quiet it gets at night, considering you’re still very much in the city. I think it’s because the surrounding streets are mostly residential, so once evening hits, there’s this peaceful lull that you don’t get in the busier hotel districts.

The location is actually pretty clever if you know how to work it. You’re about a 7-minute walk to Tengachaya Station, which puts you on the Nankai line – super handy for getting to the airport or down to Wakayama if you’re doing day trips. But here’s what I really appreciated: you’re close enough to everything without being in the middle of the chaos. Shinsekai and Tsutenkaku are maybe 15 minutes away, Sumiyoshi Taisha is an easy train ride south, and if you want to hit up Dotonbori or Namba, it’s not a big deal. The neighborhood itself has some surprisingly good little restaurants – there’s this yakitori place about three blocks over that locals actually go to, not just tourists taking Instagram photos.

Check-in was refreshingly straightforward, none of that overly formal hotel theater, just friendly people who clearly care about the place. The rooms themselves strike that perfect balance between traditional aesthetics and modern comfort – you get the beautiful simplicity of Japanese design without sacrificing practical stuff like good Wi-Fi and decent water pressure. I will say, if you’re someone who needs a huge bathroom or tons of storage space, this might feel a bit snug, but that’s pretty much the trade-off with traditional Japanese housing. What you get instead is this sense of authenticity that’s getting harder and harder to find, especially at this price point and with this level of cleanliness and attention to detail.

  当天从关西到天下茶屋的南海线因为事故无法乘坐，老板耐心地引导我们如何坐车，最终换乘三个电车顺利到达天下茶屋。
  期间，有疑问尽可以找老板，她会很即时很耐心的回答你。
  房间提供冰箱、洗衣机和烘干机，硬件设施完善。
  在大阪的4天玩的很开心，家人表示下次还要来住。
