Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw that incredibly long Japanese name, I almost scrolled past this place. But “和居鶴橋1F” (which basically means “Japanese-style residence Tsuruhashi first floor”) turned out to be one of those hidden gems that makes you feel like you accidentally stumbled into something special. It’s right in the heart of Tsuruhashi, which – if you know Osaka at all – is Korea Town, and honestly, that’s half the magic right there.

The moment you step inside, you realize this isn’t your typical cramped Japanese accommodation. You’re getting the entire first floor to yourself, which means three separate rooms that actually feel like rooms, not glorified closets. The designer clearly had a vision here – it’s got this clean, modern aesthetic that somehow doesn’t feel cold or sterile. I mean, the furniture looks like it came straight out of a home design magazine, but you can actually use it without worrying about breaking something expensive. The kitchen area is surprisingly functional too, which matters when you’re staying in a neighborhood famous for its Korean BBQ and you want to grab ingredients from the local markets. Speaking of which, you’re literally a two-minute walk from some of the best Korean restaurants outside of Seoul – I’m talking about places where the ajummas (Korean aunties) will adopt you if you show proper appreciation for their kimchi.

What really sold me on this place, though, was how quiet it gets at night despite being in such a lively area. Tsuruhashi can get pretty energetic, especially around the station, but this particular street (Chome-3-16) is just far enough from the main action that you can actually sleep. The walls are solid, the windows block out most of the street noise, and honestly, after spending days exploring Osaka’s endless temples and getting lost in Dotonbori crowds, that peace is worth its weight in gold. The whole “new opening sale” thing they mention isn’t just marketing fluff either – everything genuinely feels fresh and well-maintained. Even the bathroom, which can make or break a place in Japan, feels spacious and modern. You know what surprised me most? The little touches that show someone actually thought about how people live, not just sleep – proper lighting for reading, enough outlets for all your devices, and closet space that can handle more than just a weekend bag. At 8.3 rating, it’s clearly hitting the mark for other travelers too, and honestly, in a neighborhood where you can get incredible Korean fried chicken at 2 AM and catch a train to anywhere in Osaka within minutes, having a stylish, quiet base that feels like your own temporary apartment rather than just another hotel room makes all the difference.

  Logement très bien rénové, tout est neuf, literie très confortable. Les échanges avec l'hôte se sont très bien passés: nous avons pu faire le check-in en avance!
  
  What could be improved: Il manque un store occultant dans la chambre parentale (du coup, nous étions réveillés très tôt par la lumière du jour). La table ne permet pas de manger à 6 alors qu'il y a 6 couchages. L'isolation phonique n'était pas au top: on entend fort les bruits de la rue et du train qui passe à proximité. Enfin, l'emplacement était assez éloigné des transports en commun (environ 15 bonnes min de marche). Le soir, après 20h, tous les commerces et restos sont fermés, le quartier est vraiment mort!

  部屋が広かったのと、綺麗だった。
  値段は安いけど、設備もよく、広くて連泊しましたが、良かったです。
  値段の割には、満足でした。
  駐車場なかったですが、近隣のパーキング１日最大500円なのはありがたかった。
