Honestly, when I first heard about Lexia Tsukamoto, I wasn’t sure what to expect – the name sounds fancy but the location in Tsukamoto isn’t exactly where most tourists end up. But you know what? That’s actually the whole point. This place sits in a quiet residential pocket of Yodogawa ward, and while it might not have the Instagram appeal of staying in Dotonbori, it’s got something better: authenticity and incredibly easy access to everything that matters.

The “one station from Osaka” tagline isn’t just marketing fluff – Tsukamoto Station literally connects you to JR Osaka Station in about four minutes. I mean, four minutes. You can grab breakfast at one of those tiny local bakeries near the station (there’s this amazing melon pan place that opens at 6 AM) and still make it to the main tourist areas before the crowds hit. The apartment itself is what they call a “mansion” style – basically a modern Japanese apartment building – and honestly, the 601 unit feels more like staying at a friend’s really nice place than a typical hotel. The neighborhood gets pretty quiet after 9 PM, which is perfect if you’re dealing with jet lag or just want to decompress after walking around Osaka Castle all day.

What really surprised me was how thoughtfully everything’s set up inside. The kitchen actually works – like, you can cook real meals, not just heat up convenience store ramen. There’s proper counter space, decent-sized fridge, even a rice cooker that doesn’t look like it came from 1995. The bathroom has one of those Japanese toilet seats that’ll either confuse you completely or spoil you forever (honestly, probably both). And the bed… well, it’s not some rock-hard futon situation that leaves you wondering why your back hurts. The whole place feels lived-in but spotless, if that makes sense. The 8.8 rating makes total sense once you’re there – it’s not trying to be the Ritz, but it nails what it’s going for. My only minor gripe is that the building elevator is pretty small, so if you’re traveling with massive suitcases, you might need to make two trips. But really, that’s about as nitpicky as it gets. The area has this great mix of residential calm and urban convenience – you’ve got family-run restaurants tucked between apartment buildings, a decent-sized supermarket about three blocks away, and surprisingly good public bath house if you want the full local experience. Plus, you’re positioned perfectly to explore both central Osaka and even make day trips to Kyoto without feeling like you’re commuting from the suburbs.

  We are a group of 8, stayed for 7 nights. The unit is very spacious and absolutely comfortable. lt can fit 15 pax in the unit but insufficient shower room with only one. Everything is well equip.
  
  Location is excellent with the train station is about 3-5 minutes walk, where there are convenient stores, lots of restaurants to choose from. Car parking is about 1100-1400 yen for overnight about 3 minutes walk away.
  
  What could be improved: Nothing much that is serious. Lift is a bit small can fit about 4 people, insufficient shower room needed to queue and nobody collect the garbage..

  The location is superb! Large Rooms with separate beds!
  
  What could be improved: The stay itself was generally fine, but I had an unfortunate experience with the host after check-out. We were accused of causing damage to the toilet seat cover, although it was already loose when we arrived. Since it seemed minor, we didn’t report it then, which may have led to the misunderstanding. The host eventually withdrew the claim and damages after I protested and complained. While I’m relieved it was resolved, the initial accusation felt unfair and added unnecessary stress. I recommend future guests check and document the unit’s condition upon arrival to avoid similar situations.

  塚本駅のすぐ近くでアクセスが良い。　清潔で広々とした居室。　お風呂も大きくジェットバスも快適です。　キッチン設備も充実。商店も多く買い物・食事に便利でした。乾燥機はありませんが近くに綺麗なコインランドリーがあります。ベランダに雨避けがあり外干しが出来て便利でした。
