You know what caught me off guard about Kamado and Tsuboyu? I walked into what I thought would be just another business hotel in Osaka and instead found myself in this incredibly thoughtful blend of traditional Japanese hospitality and modern comfort that actually works. The location in Tengachaya might not sound familiar if you’re new to Osaka, but honestly, it’s one of those neighborhoods that feels authentically local – you’re still connected to all the action in Minami, but without the constant tourist buzz that can wear you down after a few days.

The name gives it away if you know your Japanese – kamado refers to traditional cooking stoves, and tsuboyu means pot bath – and they’ve really leaned into this concept in the most genuine way possible. The communal bath areas are honestly something special, with these ceramic tub installations that feel like you’re soaking in oversized pottery (which, I mean, you sort of are). It’s not trying to be a full-scale onsen experience, but there’s something deeply relaxing about it after spending the day walking around Dotonbori or Shinsaibashi. The water temperature is perfect, and I noticed they keep the areas meticulously clean – you can tell they take the bathing culture seriously here.

What really impressed me was how they’ve thought through the small stuff that frequent travelers actually care about. The rooms have these sliding panels that create separate spaces without feeling cramped, and the bedding is that perfect firmness where you sink in just enough without feeling like you’re swimming. The air conditioning is quiet – seriously, I’m someone who notices every little hum and click at night, and this place lets you actually sleep. Check-in was smooth even with my terrible Japanese, and the staff seemed genuinely pleased to help figure out restaurant recommendations rather than just handing over a generic tourist map. They pointed me toward this incredible takoyaki spot about three blocks away that I never would have found otherwise. The 8.6 rating makes complete sense once you’ve stayed here – it’s not flashy or Instagram-perfect, but everything just works the way it should, and in a city like Osaka where you’re constantly on the go, that kind of thoughtful comfort becomes incredibly valuable.

  予約時こちらの入力ミスもあり迷惑を掛けましたが
  電話やメールで親身になって対応して下さいました。
  今回3世代でお世話になったのですが十分すぎる広さでした。滞在中孫はずっと大はしゃぎ♫
  陶器がもともと好きな事もあり風呂壺楽しみにしていたのですが色もオシャレで素敵でした。お風呂サウナ共に滞在中何度も利用させてもらいました。とても癒されました。
  かまどのご飯も簡単に美味しくすぐに炊き上がるのでお米持参は必須です。チェックイン時頂いた食パンもすごく美味しかったです。みなさんにおすすめ出来る宿です。
  
  What could be improved: 2階の洗面台の水の流れが悪かった事
  清掃の方のちょっとしたミスがあったものの
  それよりも上回る快適でオシャレな宿でした。

  店主和清潔員很nice, 小孩子不舒服，幫手搵了附近最近醫院，2層小朋友也很開心可以走動下，有2大水缸，和桑拿室，洗碗機，真的很舒服。全家也很喜歡這兒，未到退房時間有2位員工企門外等待，辛苦他們了。雖然對面大街係飛田新地，但早上和晚上也很安全，很安心，屋內也十分清潔。上機前收到屋主致電，原來未成功過數，好彩未登機，還可互相聯絡並立即付款，否則到達後才知未能入住就慘了，希望下次再能入住
  
  What could be improved: 自助入屋，到屋前也搵不到入屋passpord, 小朋友不適，真的心急了。很高興街上碰見附近住戶的女孩，她幫忙找多次致電屋主才成功聯絡上，並取得pw入內。之前信息我和女孩看了多次，只收到入住的用品介紹pw。就是搵不到大門pw… 嚇了一跳, 希望下次可在信息內直接寫埋入住大門pw, 會更方便。

  広く、子どもたちがいても快適だった。
  お風呂もとても楽しめました。
  食器など、全てが揃っていたので家の用ですごしやすかったです。
  
  What could be improved: お風呂を洗う洗剤を置いといて頂けたら良かった。
  毎日お風呂は洗いたいです。

  ドラム洗濯や、一般家電もあり、2階風呂場が広く、一階にシャワー室もあるので大人数で宿泊しても安心。コスパが非常に良い。食パン一斤、ジャムバターのサービスや、保存食品もいくつかあり助かりました。
  
  What could be improved: 2ベッド・3布団以外に座敷部屋の布団セットを追加で使用しようとすると、カバーリングを自分たちで装着しなければならず手間でした。
  事前に案内されていた玄関の鍵のコード入力方法が実際行ってみると少し違っていました。
